The 49ers concluded the qualification phase with race 15 late this afternoon. As expected, Gold- and Silvermedals can already be awarded before the Medal Race. Nathan Outteridge/Ian Jensen AUS finished 3rd and are on top with a 28 points' advantage on the second-ranked Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL, who have themselves a 32 points lead on the third-ranked Norregard/Lang DEN. The ranks 3 to 8 however are all within 12 points and the heat is on for the Bronze Medal. Among the contenders for Bronze are Dyen/Christidis FRA on rank 6 with a 7 points' backlog.
