Laser - Olympic Worldcup 2012 - Weymouth GBR - Final Results, Buckingham USA 10th
The Laser Radial Medal Race ended with a drama for the overall leader Lijia Xu CHN who touched mark one when rounding as second that dropped her on the 8th final race rank. She not only lost the first place but was even relegated from the podium by one point, ending on rank 4. Taking advantage of Xu's bad luck was Allison Young GBR winning her first Worldcup event two points ahead of Sari Multala FIN. Thanks to her first place in the Medal Race, the strong wind specialist Annalise Murphy IRL moved up on rank 3.
Brilliant once more was the performance of the World Champion Tom Slingsby AUS in the Lasers Standard, adding a Medal Race victory and finishing the event with a 17 points advantage. Tom Burton AUS took Silver ahead of Philipp Buhl GER with the same number of points. Charlie Buckingham USA, 10th in the Medal Race, remained on the 10th place overall.
