Laser Standard - World Championship 2012 - Boltenhagen GER - Tom Slingsby AUS defends his title
Finishing 2nd in the first race of the day, Tom Slingsby AUS defended his World Champion title in the Lasers Standard successfully. This is already the 5th title for the Australian, and at Boltenhagen, he demonstrated for the first time his superiority in light-winds also. Undoubtedly, he is the outstanding favorite for Gold at the 2012 Olympics. Tonci Stipanovic CRO earned the Silver medal 28 points behind. Andrew Maloney NZL captured the Bronze medal on the last day of the Championship replacing the astonishing newcomer Juan Maegli GUA on the podium.
