8mR, 12mR - World Championship 2011 - Flensburg GER - Day 2
The breeze filled in with almost 30 kn on the Flensburg Firth, the upper limit for some of the 12 mR, partly almost 100 years of age, and damages and one dismasting were inevitable. In the 12 mR, Patrick Howaldt DEN remained on top with a three points lead on the second-ranked Wilfried Beck GER. In the large 8 mR fleet, Tim Van Rootselaar NED with his 'Hollandia' remains on top. New on rank 2 is Allan Manuel GBR with the 'Lafayette'. Manuel Stern SUI, day ranks 3 and 4, dropped on rank 3 overall. Brian Gooderham CAN, 4th is the first North American, Fred Meyer SUI follows on rank 5 of the 25 teams. Ronald Palm USA with a DNF/DNC descended on the 16th place.
