Laser - Olympic Worldcup 2011 - Medemblik NED - Day 4
Rain and gusty winds around 23 kn made life hard for the Laser sailors on the Ijssel Meer yesterday. In both fleets, the big breeze specialists have taken the lead, and in the Radials, a number of blackflag disqualifications influenced the rankings as well. Tom Slingsby AUS extended his lead in the Lasers Standard with another bullet, ahead of Bruno Fontes BRA on rank 2, while Milan Vujasinovic CRO dropped on rank 4 after a mediocre day (ranks 23/49) behind Roelof Bouwmeester NED. Fresh winds have been announced for today's races as well for the crucial races to qualify for the Medal Races of the best 10. The ranks 6 to 13 are separated by 17 points only.
With the day ranks 1 and 2, Marit Bouwmeester has taken the lead in the Lasers Radial ahead of Tina Mihelic CRO and Lijia Xu CHN.
