Laser 4.7 - World Championship 2011 - San Francisco CA, USA - Day 3
With 13-17 kn, the Frisco Bay proved once more yesterday to be one of the most reliable wind venues. Both fleets sailed two races, first the Girld and then the Boys.
With the day ranks 1 and 2 in her group, Cecilia Zorzi ITA extended her lead on the 2nd Kim Pletikos SLO to 15 pts. Line Höst NOR defended the 3rd place. Mixed feeling with the best US girls: Lola Bushnell 5 ranks down to 13th, Rachel Bryer, the best US girl yesterday (ranks 12/16) coming from behind on 22nd and Hanne Weaver on 25th, loosing 18 ranks after a bad 42/OCS day. The Girls' rankings.
The Spanish continue to dominate the Boys' rankings with Francisco Gonzalez ESP leading with 6 pts in 6 races ! Carlos Rosello ESP - yesterday with two race wins in his group - follows 4 points behind. Keiju Okada JPN remains on the 3rd place. The best North American Ander Belausteguigoitia MEX on rank 28. Jack Toland, Jack Marshall and Brendan Shanahan are on the positions 34, 36 and 39 of the 110 competitors, and on a safe way to the Goldfleet.
The last two qualification races for the Gold- and Silverfleets will be sailed today. The official official report.
