The 49ers concluded the qualification phase with race 15 late this afternoon. As expected, Gold- and Silvermedals can already be awarded before the Medal Race. Nathan Outteridge/Ian Jensen AUS finished 3rd an are on top with a 28 points' advantage on the second-ranked Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL, who have themselves a 32 points lead on the third-ranked Norregard/Lang DEN. The ranks 3 to 8 however are all within 12 points and the heat is on for the Bronze Medal. Storck/Moore USA and Cook/Lowden CAN finished the last qualification race on the ranks 17 and DNF, and leave the Olympic competition on the 15th and 16th final race overall. The Medal Race will take place on next Wednesday. All ranking list.
