Two races were sailed on the last day of the Melges 24 Worlds on Lake Garda, but the northerly breeze as well as the Ora were quite capricious. Alberto Bolzan ITA/Nathan Wilmot AUS started to the last race with an 11 points' lead, but after a bad start, their direct opponent Carlo Fracassoli ITA rushed away and - winning this race - he also overtook Bolzan and is the new World Champion. Riccardo Simoneschi ITA on rank 3 completed the all-Italian podium. Franco Rossini SUI/Flavio Favini ITA missed the Bronze medal by 4 points.
