Windy conditions prevailed on the Bay of Kiel - up to 5 bft - and excellent performances of the German hopefuls for the 2012 Olympic Regattas were noticed. In the Lasers Standard, Simon Grotelüschen GER has taken the overall lead with two day wins, ahead of his team mate and sparring partner Philipp Buhl GER with the same number of points. Thorbjörn Schierup DEN follows on rank 3. The young US sailors Greg Martinez and Chris Barnard lost some places and are on the ranks 22 and 36.
