Bol d'Or 2012 - SN Genève - Victory for 'Realstone', 'Artemis Racing' 7th
The 74th Bol d'Or was not the fast and easy race as expected based on the weather forecast. The fleet was sometimes even blocked on lull patches, and this Sunday morning, only 36 of the 469 teams had crossed the finish line. The D-35-Cat 'Realstone' with Jerôme Clerc SUI of the Geneva CER, dominator of the whole 2012 season already, took the line honors and the victory in the M1 catamaran class followed by 'de Rham & Sothebys' (Philippe Cardis SUI). Both clearly separated from the fleet on the return leg to Geneva and arrived 40 minutes before the next D-35s. 'Artemis Racing' of Torbjörn Tornqvist SWE (with Paul Cayard USA ) finished 7th over one hour later. The first M2 cat arriving in Geneva was 'KSR' with M. Pfister on rank 9, and the second M2 of Alex Schneiter followed only 6 minutes later on rank 9 overall. The best monohull, arriving 4.5 hours later, was the Hungarian Libera class 'Raffica' on rank 29, in front of 'Full Pelt' steered by the former Olympic diplomand (FD 1992) Jan Eckert SUI as second monohull on rank 33 overall. The ranking lists continuously updated during this day. See also the reports and comments.
