Volvo Ocean Race 2012 - Leg 7 - Day 11, ETA Lisbon tonight, 'Abu Dhabi' still leads
During the past night, the fleet has reached the last major obstacle approaching the finish line, a lull zone with a very light 2-4 kn breeze. The seven Volvo 70 are now proceeding closely together within a 30 miles' range. The one to reach the trade-winds off the Portuguese Coast first will very likely be the winner of this leg. 230 miles are left to Lisbon where the boats are expected this evening. 'Abu Dhabi' with Ian Walker GBR holds the lead only 12 miles ahead of 'Groupama' (Franck Cammas FRA) and 'Puma' (Ken Read USA) sailing jointly together. The overall leader 'Telefonica' (Iker Martinez ESP) follows on position 5, 23 miles behind. The race-viewer, the daily report and the videos.
