The 34th and last race of the Istanbul X-treme Sailing Series brought the decision in favour of 'Artemis Racing', leaving 'Team New Zealand' and 'Groupe Edmond de Rothschild' behind. By one points only, Terry Hutchinson USA and his 'Artemis Racing' defeated Dean Barker NZL ('Emirates Team NZL') and Pierre Pennec FRA ('Groupe Rothschild'). 'Alinghi' with Tanguy Cariou FRA was out of the top group after the major crash with 'Team Extreme' and finished on rank 7. The victim of the collision, Roland Gäbler GER, could not continue the race and ended on the last position.
In the overall Series rankings after three Acts, 'Groupe Rothschild with Pierre Pennec FRA remains on top one point ahead of 'Emirates Team New Zealand'. The next round of the Series will be sailed in Boston USA end of June. The results and the report.
