Today is day one of the Melges 24 World Championship 2011 off Corpus Christi, Texas. Over the weekend, the pre-Worlds were sailed as a final tune-up for the Championship, but only a few teams finished all three races. Some of the favorites did, and the winner is the Eidvind Melleby NOR and his team, thanks to individual race ranks in front of the defending World Champion Lorenzo Bressani ITA with his 'Uka Uka' team. Conor Clarke IRL and Bora Gulari USA are on the next places. 'Blu Moon' of Franco Rossini SUI/Flavio Favini ITA, a co-favorite for the title, sailing only two races, follows on rank 7.
