AC45 - America's Cup World Series 2012 - Napoli ITA - Day 1, fresh breeze - 'Artemis' capsized
The 25 kn breeze and big waves set a perfect stage for a spectacle at the first 2012 event of the America's Cup World Series in the Bay of Naples ITA. The Swedish 'Artemis' (Terry Hutchinson USA) had to abandon the race and return ashore early after a capsize destroying the wing sail. Obviously, the experienced AC-45 cat teams had the upperhand with 'Teams von 'Team New Zealand' (Dean Barker NZL and 'Oracle Racing' (James Spithill AUS) both with day ranks 1 and 3 on top of the rankings. On position 3 follows as big surprise 'Team Korea' with Nathan Outteridge AUS, who has been on an AC-45 for the first time a week ago. Yann Guichard FRA steering 'Energy' is on rank 4.
