Volvo Ocean Race 2012 - Leg 5 - Day 3
The long enjoyable reaching leg in a 20 kn breeze has come to an end for the first five teams. Entering the center of an anticyclone with very light winds, the fleet will consolidate again. For the moment, it is 'Telefonica' with Iker Martinez ESP on top 11 miles ahead of 'Groupama' (Franck Cammas FRA), and 15 miles before 'Camper' (Chris Nicholson NZL) on rank 3. The repair stop left 'Abu Dhabi' (Ian Walker GBR) far behind, but they will undoubtedly reduce the 306 miles' backlog in the hours ahead. The race-viewer, the report of the day and the videos.
