In spite of very varying wind conditions, Jörg Riechers GER/Marc Lepesqueux FRA with their 'mare.de' were able to defend their lead on day 8 of the Solidaire du Chocolat. At present, the leaders are progressing in good conditions with speeds around 15 to 20 kn. But already during the coming night, the next lull zone is located ahead, especially for the yachts sailing a souhern route. It is not unlikely, that Mathis Prochasson/Matthieu Gallant FRA (backlog 104 miles, rank 8), sailing all-alone on the most northern track, will catch up substantially. Here their report (in French).
