Three classes sailed their Medal Races on Saturday already - we reported yesterday on the victories of Belcher/Page AUS (470 M), Westerhof/Berkhout NED (470 W) and Scheidt/Prada BRA (Star). On Sunday, the other 7 Olympic classes finished the fifth Worldcup 2011 competitions, the windiest since a long time. In the 49ers, Morrison/Rhodes GBR defended their first place ahead of Outteridge/Jensen AUS, in the Finns, Ed Wright GBR replaced Ivan Kljakovic CRO with a win in the Medal Race. No change with the RS:X-windsurfers. In absence of the top athletes, Taehoon Lee KOR finished first followed by Zachary Plavsic CAN, and in the female windsurfers, Li Ling CHN got on top thanks to rank 1 in the Medal Race in front of Jessica Crisp AUS. The Women Matchace final, sailed in a breeze exceeding 30 kn, was won by Renée Groenveld NED defeating Siljia Lehtinen FIN 2-1, Anna Tunnicliffe USA got Bronze. The report and all results.
