IMOCA Open 60 - Barcelona World Race - Day 34 - the pursuers are catching up
The leading group of the fleet is now sailing on the Indian Ocean but so split that the first, 'Virbac-Paprec' (Dick/Peyron FRA), is sailing in a different weather system as the chasers 'Mapfre' (Martinez/Fernandez ESP), 'Estrella Damm' (Pella/Ribes ESP) and 'Groupe Bel' (De Pavant/Audigane FRA), and this to the advantage of the latter who could reduce the gap by 100 miles and will continue to do so today. The two 49er Olympic medalists were 440 miles behind this morning. 'Mirabaud' (Wavre/Paret SUI) and 'Neutrogena' (Herrmann/Breymaier GER/USA), sailing very close on the ranks 6 and 7 lost some miles compared to the leaders. The positions, the race-viewer, the daily report and the videos of yesterday.
