Tornado - Reg White, catamaran racing legend, dies at age 75
Reg White MBE, the father of modern catamaran racing, died on Thursday at the age of 75, while sailing. White is best known for his early involvement with Rodney March and the Tornado catamaran, which he built with his company Sail Craft. White, a multiple European champion, was the first Olympic Gold medalist in the Tornado (1976 Montreal) with crew John Osborn and also won world championships in 1976 and 1979. He started his catamaran career with the Little America's Cup and the 'Lady Helmsman' C-Class catamaran, the first boat with a wing sail to win a major trophy. Read the short obituary.
