Good sailing conditions prevailed yesterday at the start of the six teams to the 8th leg of the Volvo Ocean Race leading from Lisbon POR to Lorient FRA rounding the Azores. The first four teams are very close together and still have a chance to become the overall winner of the race with two legs and two in-port races to sail. This morning at 4 a.m., 'Telefonica' with Iker Martinez ESP was 1,7 miles ahead of 'Puma' (Ken Read USA). The short 1'900 miles' will be sailed in roughly five days.
