Over 35 % increase in web traffic in 2009 !
Never before a platform for the sport of sailing did exist in Switzerland with such a market penetration: 69'113 unique identifiable visitors connected to www.sailing-news.ch 333'311 times, addressing 452'922 pages. These numbers are more than the double of sailing addicts compared to all the nautical print media in this country. Two third of the visitors come from Switzerland (+ 29,29 %). A major increase can also be noted from France (+38%) and Austria (+ 54,4 %). The English version initiated as from April 2009 had also a positive effect. Since mid-2009, Google-Analytics show increase rates in additional European countries around 100%, in the scandinavian countries even over 200%. This trend will prevail in 2010 and we expect to reach over 100'000 'unique visits'.
www.sailing-news.ch is the only sailing Internet portal world-wide having the Olympic and youth sailing as first priority, the part of our sport practiced with the most dedication, commitment and effort delivering results of the highest sporting value.
No other medium, at least in Europe, reports as often and competent about the happenings around the America's Cup, especially in the weeks ahead, and other events with professional sailors are covered as well.
We are very grateful if you further recommend our website. Thank you very much !

2000 years of Sailing in Switzerland - THE book
Up to now, the history of sailing in Switzerland has hardly been researched. With his book 'Vorindustrielle Last-Segelschiffe in der Schweiz', the archaeologist Thomas Reitmaier has established a first comprehensive overview. Based on historical documents and pictures, but first and foremost the increasing number of archaeological discoveries during the past years, an entertaining and well illustrated 240-page-book has been edited, presenting the history of sailing in Switzerland, its economical importance and the history of boat building. The oldest wreck - a Roman war rowing boat from approx. 300 AC - can be seen at Yverdon/Lake Neuchâtel. See also the English summary. This book is a MUST for every Swiss sailor. It can be ordered online (go to the bottom of the page).

Our media data in view of your advertising in 2010

www.sailing-news-ch - the sailing medium nbr 1 in Switzerland
A massive increase in visitors again during the past month of May with 34% more than a year ago. More than 7'000 "individually identifed visitors' did contact our pages over 28'000 times. On this occasion, the interesting conditions for advertisers are to be mentioned. The Internet aiming directly at a specific target group is generally considered to be the most effective advertising tool in these economically difficult times.
