The Olympic Champion in the RS:X women windsurfers is Marina Alabau ESP, clearly dominating the competition and adding a Medal Race victory as highlight to the race series. The fight for the other Medals was - as expected - very exciting .. and ended with a surprise. The World Champion Lee-El Korzits ISR finished on rank 9 only and dropped out of the Medals. On her place, it was Tuuli Petäjä FIN taking Silver, and Zofia Klepacka POL is on rank 3, one point behind the 2nd. Olga Maslivets UKR, another point back is on rank 4. The Ukrainian was leading the Medal Race almost to the finish when Alabau overtook her, and relegated her to rank 4 overall. Only 4 points behind the Bronze Medal is Moana Delle GER on rank 5.
