Olympic Games 2012 - Weymouth GBR - Day 8 - the Swiss
Richard Stauffacher SUI qualified for the Medal Race. With two good ranks in the last two qualification heats, he climbed on rank 10 just to get the ticket for Tuesday's Medal Race, achieving his personal goal. A little consolation for the badly bolted Swiss Team. An Olympic Diploma (rank 8) is out of reach. In his third (and probably last) Olympic campaign, Stauffacher realised his best result. Today, Yannick Brauchli/Romuald Hausser SUI will be in action with the 470 men. As 17th, they are 21 points behind rank 10, but there remain 4 races to compensate this gap. The young Swiss team has already now exceeded all expectations. Racing begins again on 13 hrs CET. We shall cover the events in the live-ticker on these pages as every day. All ranking lists and the report of the Swiss Sailing Teams.
