The awaited fresh breeze of over 20 kn filled in yesterday and the qualification phase for the Gold- and Silverfleet was ended with two races according to program. The situation in the Lasers Radial is suspenseful with Marit Bouwmeester NED as the new leader and a group of four within only two points ! Lijia Xu CHN is one point behind the Dutch woman, Evi Van Acker BEL, Sari Multala FIN and Allison Young GBR follow on the 3rd place at equal points. Gintare Scheidt LTU lost a protest of Bouwmeester NED and is now 9 points back on rank 6.
Tom Burton AUS defended his lead in the Lasers Standard. The best of the day Philipp Buhl GER advanced on rank 2, one point ahead of Rasmus Mygren SWE, Tom Slingsby AUS (yesterday in 'his preferred conditions' only 6th and 7th) and Tonci Stipanovic CRO sharing the 3rd place.
