Atlantic hurricane season, in case you conveniently forgot, is upon us in a few days, officially beginning June 1. Last year, there were just nine tropical storms - the fewest since 1997. However, 2010 is an El Niño year and could bring on as many as 18 named storms. Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatUS) advises boaters in hurricane states to be proactive with damage prevention and offers online help.
