Last year's winner Björn Hansen SWE defeated Ian Williams GBR in a level match 3-2. The UK team came back after a 2-0 lead of Hansen, but the last match went in favor of the Swede after a failed spinaker maneuver of the British Matchrace World Champion, and the 60'000 $ price money was Hansen's. Williams qualified easily 3-0 over Torvar Mirsky AUS, while Hansen SWE 3-2 had to go over five matches to eliminate the rookie Phil Robertson NZL. Man of the day - confirming his performance at the first Round of this year's WMRT in Germany - was Phil Robertson NZL, winning the Korea Match Cup Round Robin with a brilliant 9-1 score ahead of Ian Williams GBR, defending World Champion. Meanwhile, the Quarter Finals are going on in Asia this morning, and the first Semi Finalists, all defeating their opponents 3-1, are known: Björn Hansen SWE eliminated gegen William Tiller NZL, and Torvar Mirsky AUS eliminated Pierre Antoine Morvan FRA. At copy deadline this morning UCT, the other two pairs were 1-1, i.e. Phil Robertson NZL vs Simone Ferrarese ITA and Ian Williams GBR vs Peter Gilmour AUS. The report. This morning, the English Matchrace World Champion 2011 and Tour winner added another point increasing his score to 7-1 in front of Torvar Mirsky AUS, Björn Hansen SWE and Phil Robertson NZL with 3-2 wins each.
