The famous 'Ora' breeze on Lake Garda decided to challenge the record-size 1055 boats' fleet at its limits in the last races yesterday. In up to 25 kn, the Juniori sailed three, the younger Cadetti two heats. In the huge Juniori fleet, Omer Isik TUR took the victory home just one point ahead of Patrick Zeni ITA, while Gwendal Lamay GER climbed on the podium on the last day as third, tied with Jefferey Glossenger USA on rank 4. The best girl Francesca Bergamo ITA finished 8th of the 805 participants.
The Italians Andrea Spagnolli ITA and Tommaso Salvetta ITA realised an double for the Squadra Azzurra in the Cadetti, with Vita Heatcote GBR on third, and at the same time best girl. Roko Mohr GER advanced on rank 4 on the last day. The final report and the video of the last day. The 2013 Optimist World Championship will take place in here in Riva ITA. Great racing guaranteed !

Amanda Ammundsen DEN on the 4th place remains the best girl. 807 participants. The rankings of the younger Caddettis has not yest been published on the event-website this morning. Considerable improvement by the Swiss: Philippe Pittet SUI is now on rank 10, with a race win in his group yesterday, and Damian Suri SUI is 11th of the 807 participants. The sailing conditions were good on day one of the Lake Garda Optimist Meeting 2012 with a north wind of up to 14 kn, in spite of an overcast sky and rain. The younger Cadetti sailed two races, the 807 Juniores finished three heats. With the day ranks 1/1/3 in his group, Omer Izik TUR took the interims lead in the Juniores, followed by Jack Cookson POR and Patrick Zeni ITA. Amanda Ammundsen DEN on rank 4 is the best girl. Philippe Pittet SUI as 21st and Damian Suri SUI als 25th had a good first day. Finishing 2nd in one of the races, Jonathan Rutishauser SUI realised the best Swiss result. He is actually 38th overall. The Ora freshed up to 20 kn yesterday, too much for the younger Cadetti (age 9 - 11) who were sent ashore after the first race. The elder Juniores completed three heats with the top group remaining very close together. The new leader in the overall rankings is Patrick Zeni ITA, one point ahead of Jeffrey Glossenger USA thanks to the day ranks 1/3/1. Omer Isik TUR dropped on the 3rd place. The best girl is now Francesca Bergamo ITA n rank 7.
In the Cadetti, Alessandro Caldari ITA is first after 4 races, followed by Andrea Spagnolli ITA. Vita Heathcoat GBR on rank 7 is the best girl. 255 participants. The report of the day.

The new leader in the elder Juniores (age 12-15) is Yucehan Aslan TUR jointly with Patrick Zeni ITA and Omer Isik TUR following one point behind. Amanda Ammundsen DEN on the 4th place remains the best girl. 807 participants. The rankings of the younger Caddettis has not yest been published on the event-website this morning. Considerable improvement by the Swiss: Philippe Pittet SUI is now on rank 10, with a race win in his group yesterday, and Damian Suri SUI is 11th of the 807 participants. The sailing conditions were good on day one of the Lake Garda Optimist Meeting 2012 with a north wind of up to 14 kn, in spite of an overcast sky and rain. The younger Cadetti sailed two races, the 807 Juniores finished three heats. With the day ranks 1/1/3 in his group, Omer Izik TUR took the interims lead in the Juniores, followed by Jack Cookson POR and Patrick Zeni ITA. Amanda Ammundsen DEN on rank 4 is the best girl. Philippe Pittet SUI as 21st and Damian Suri SUI als 25th had a good first day. Finishing 2nd in one of the races, Jonathan Rutishauser SUI realised the best Swiss result. He is actually 38th overall. In the younger Cadetti (age 9-11), Alessandro Caldari ITA and Inga-Marie Hoffmann GER share the lead. Livio Erni SUI, 28th is the best ranked Swiss. The daily report and the video.
