The Contender World Championship 2011 ended yesterday with two last races. Bjarke Johnson DEN is the World Champion 2011 thanks to the higher number of race wins compared with the second-ranked Graham Scott GBR. Bronze went to Sören Andreasen DEN. Christoph Homeier GER, rank 4, missed the podium by 3 points. The Goldfleet results. Jacqueline Rüfenacht SUI, the best woman, finished the Championship with two good races in the Silverfleet, making her climb on the 80th place of 143 participants. The event-website.

After the five qualification races, the Championship continued yesterday with the finals and two races completed in the Gold- and Silverfleet in light to moderate winds. Bjarke Johnson DEN reclaimed the lead with the ranks 1 and 2, but Graham Scott GBR has the same number of points on rank 2. Already 7 points back is Sören Andreasen DEN on the 3rd place, chased by Christoph Homeier GER 4th. Jacqueline Rüfenacht SUI, the best ranked women, is on position 18 of the Silverfleet (=90th Overall) of the 143 participants. The results - in strange presentation with Gold- and Silverfleet intermixed ! - and the event-website.

After a long waiting ashore, one race could be sailed late in the afternoon in light winds and grey weather according to the event blog. Unfortunately, the results are not yet updated. Bjarke Johnson DEN, Suart Jones GBR and Christoph Homeier GER were on top the day before yesterday. Jacqueline Rüfenacht SUI as best woman is on the position 76 of the 144 participants.
